Brazil makes first final anti-dumping sunset review decision on PET resin involving China
On November 25, 2022, the Administrative Executive Committee of the Foreign Trade Commission of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Brazil issued Resolution No. 419 of 2022, making the first affirmative final decision on the anti-dumping sunset review of PET resin (Portuguese: Resina PET) originating from Chinese mainland and India with intrinsic viscosity of 0.70 ~ 0.88 dl/g, deciding to continue to impose anti-dumping duties on mainland China and India's products for a period of 5 years. Anti-dumping duties of $87.23-143.01/ton and $193.78-468.97/ton are levied on Chinese mainland and India respectively, as detailed in the attached figure. The HS codes of the products involved are 3907.61.00 and 3907.69.00. The resolution shall enter into force as of the date of promulgation.
On November 25, 2022, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Secretariat issued Notice No. 55 of 2022, stating that since there is no evidence to show that the dumping of PET resin (Portuguese: Resina PET) with an intrinsic viscosity of 0.70~ 0.88 dl/g originating from Taiwan, China and Indonesia is likely to continue or reoccur to the Brazilian domestic industry. Therefore, it is decided not to extend the anti-dumping measures for the products involved in the above-mentioned countries and regions. The HS codes of the products involved are 3907.61.00 and 3907.69.00. The resolution shall enter into force as of the date of promulgation.
