K?ksan, one of Turkey's leading PET producers, has signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Oerlikon Barmag Huitong (Yangzhou) Engineering Co. (OBHE), a globally recognised engineering company. Thanks to this strategic partnership, the company will increase its bottle-grade, film-grade, fibre-grade and R-PET polyester production capacity to 2.2 million tonnes per year, providing a significant boost to its global growth targets. As part of this agreement, K?ksan is investing in a state-of-the-art green polyester new materials project with an annual capacity of 400 thousand tonnes at Yangkou Chemical Industrial Park in Rudong County, Nantong, China. The first phase of this ambitious project has been officially launched. Equipped with OBHE's advanced five-reactor process and specialised equipment, the plant will produce high viscosity resin using purified terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol as raw materials, resulting in high quality bottle grade polyester resin. With exports reaching more than 100 countries today, K?ksan continues to strengthen its international presence and investments. As a global investor, the company operates in China, Senegal, Libya and Iraq. Over the past 50 years, K?ksan has continued to touch the global structure, chemical production facilities and operations, logistics agreements and warehousing, as well as key aspects of international trade. This project, K?ksan's first investment in China, is one of the largest industrial initiatives of Turkish industrialists in the region. When the project is completed, K?ksan will consolidate its position as an important global player in polyester production.
