On the morning of January 18th, Shanghai Jieda's nylon integrated project commenced construction at the Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park, becoming the most complete critical link in the national 66 industry chain. The construction of the annual production of 120,000 tons of HMDA and nylon 66 integrated project requires an investment of 1.6 billion yuan and covers an area of over 200 acres.
The integrated project of Shanghai Jieda is planned to be built on Plot B4-6 of the Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park, adjacent to Invista Nylon Integration Base. Invista Shanghai's annual production capacity of adiponitrile will reach 470,000 tons with a surplus capacity of approximately 150,000 tons per year, which will be supplied to Shanghai Jieda through a pipeline.
Ma Jianbo, Chairman of Jieda, introduced that from the beginning of the project planning, Invista has provided strong support in various aspects, including the formulation of project plans, supply of main raw materials such as ADN and hydrogen, technology transfer and collaboration, safety and risk assessment of production, comprehensive utilization of by-products, etc. The win-win cooperation and deep-level strategic cooperation between Jieda and Invista will benefit the early entry of the Shanghai Jieda Nylon Integration Project into the global leading position.
Ma Jianbo stated that Shanghai Jieda is willing to take the nylon integration project as a starting point, focus on Invista's ADN production capacity, continuously improve the industrial chain, and help Invista's ADN production capacity and by-product conversion within the park. They will follow the green and low-carbon development path and steadfastly implement the requirements of safety and environmental protection.
Ms. Nancy Kowalski, Global CEO of Invista, said that as the world's largest nylon 66 industry base in the Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park, with the addition of Jieda, it will further expand. They will continue to develop and create new opportunities together with Jieda.
In August 2023, Shanghai Jieda Nylon Materials Co., Ltd., Henan Pingmei Shenma Nylon Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., and Hualu Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. jointly signed the "Shanghai Jieda 120,000 tons/year HMDA Project Technology License and Tripartite Cooperation Agreement." With this, the process technology adopted by Jieda for the "Shanghai Jieda Nylon 66 Integration Project" invested and constructed in the Shanghai Chemical Industrial Park has been finalized.
According to reports, the project's production capacity includes 120,000 tons/year of HMDA, 120,000 tons/year of nylon 66, as well as nylon 610/612 resin (chip) and 50,000 tons/year of modified nylon 66/nylon 610/nylon 612 resin. The production is scheduled to start in 2025.
