According to China Cotton Association's investigation over 2056 growers and 10 major cotton belts in March 2025, the cotton planting areas are likely to be 44.184 million mu nationwide, up 0.4% year on year. Cotton areas in Xinjiang may increase by 1.8% year on year to be 40.326 million mu, with the growth rate up by 0.3 percentage point from previous investigation, and that in Yangtze River reduced by 16.2% to 1.369 million mu, with the reduction up by 11.9 percentage point, and that in Yellow River reduced by 11.8% to 2.067 million mu, with the reduction up by 5.1 percentage point. Around 76.7% of the growers intend to maintain their areas, 11.6% and 7.1% growers intend to reduce or increase the areas respectively, and the rest have not decided yet.
